LGen (ret'd) William Leach

 

Bill Leach served 40 years in the Canadian Army and the Canadian Forces. He retired in the summer of 2000 from his last position as Chief of Land Staff in the rank of Lieutenant-General.

He is a 1965 graduate of The Royal Military College of Canada, Kingston, with a degree in Economics and Commerce.

Bill was a career logistician. He held command and staff appointments at the tactical, operational and strategic levels. He worked in land, air, joint, national headquarters and international environments. In the field of logistics, he held positions in supply, transportation, finance and operational support. He served in exchange duties with the British Army and in United Nations missions. In his last position as the Canadian Army Commander, he was a member of Armed Forces Council and Defence Management Committee.

He is a recipient of the Canadian Order of Military Merit (Commander) and the US Legion of Merit (Commander).

Late in 2000, he joined Honeywell International as Regional Director Canadian Programs and Vice President Operations, Honeywell Canada Logistics Services (HCLS).

In July 2005, Bill joined Mincom, Australia's largest software company, as a Director of Mincom Canada, Inc. In October 2005, Bill was appointed Vice President Mincom Defence.

He has two daughters and a son, two grandchildren and more than one Newfoundland dog
