Fordson Emergency Food Van Restoration
The restoration of the Fordson Emergency Food Van, sponsored by the Friends of CWM,
is complete. The vehicle is on display in the LeBreton Gallery.
The War Museum's example features the fender style of the original model and also has
window winders which were later eliminated. The number plate, JNO 421, suggests that
it was registered in Essex in 1941. But why is it unique? A plaque affixed to the side
states, "F.E.V. No 1. This van was inspected at the Mansion House, London, by Their
Majesties the King and Queen, Sept. 16th, 1941"
