Passing the Torch, the campaign which raised over $16 million towards
the fitting out of the new museum, ended over year ago.
But there are still significant opportunities for the Friends
to support current CWM projects. This ongoing fundraising campaign
has been dubbed Carrying the Torch.
PLANNED FUNDING
During each fiscal year, the Canadian War Museum identifies,
as part of its annual work planning exercise, a series of projects for
which FCWM financial support is requested.
The FCWM executive then selects the projects which the Friends will fund.
This approach benefits both parties: the museum will know in advance
which projects will be completed, and the FCWM will know how much money
it has engaged to raise. In addition, fundraising will be more effective
when potential donors can be told exactly what their donations will be used for.
